Delete your Whispr account
How to delete your account for Whispr, the messaging app by Techversed, and what happens to your data.

In short
This page is for Whispr, the messaging app published on Google Play by Techversed.
- In the app: Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete My Account.
- Without the app: email support@techversed.team with your username.
- Your profile, sessions, contacts and Saved Messages are deleted. Messages you sent to other people are hidden from everyone but kept in our database indefinitely (details below).
1.Delete your account in the app
- Open Whispr and sign in.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Privacy & Security.
- Tap Delete My Account.
- Read what will be deleted, then confirm.
You are signed out on every device and your account cannot be restored. If your version of the app does not show Delete My Account, update the app or use the email request below.
2.Request deletion without the app
You do not need the app to delete your account. Send an email to support@techversed.team with:
- the subject "Delete my Whispr account";
- your Whispr username (and the phone number on the account, if it has one).
We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it, so that nobody can delete someone else's account. Once the request is confirmed we delete the account as described below and reply to let you know.
3.What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we delete:
- your profile: display name, username, phone number, profile photos and bio, your password and two-step verification;
- your push notification tokens, so no more notifications are sent to your devices;
- your contacts and the nicknames and photos you gave them, and the nicknames others gave you;
- your Saved Messages.
You are signed out on every device and removed from every group and channel; a group you own is handed to one of its admins. Your username and phone number are freed and can later be given to another account. Where your account still appears to others, it shows as "Deleted Account".
4.What is kept, and for how long
Messages you sent to other people are kept
Messages you sent in chats, groups and channels with other people are not erased. They are kept in our database, together with the photos, videos and files attached to them, marked as belonging to a deleted account, and hidden, so they no longer appear in any chat for anyone. We keep them indefinitely. Because they are kept, Whispr's service administrators may still be able to access them.
We also keep:
- the records of your past sign-ins (the IP address, device, app and approximate location stored with each session), for security and to prevent abuse;
and may keep, for as long as needed for these purposes:
- records we need to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as server logs and the history of moderation actions and reports involving your account;
- content and account information we must preserve to comply with the law, for example evidence of child sexual abuse material reported to the authorities (see our Child Safety Standards);
- data in backups of our systems, until those backups are replaced in the normal course.
Copies other people made, for example by forwarding your messages, saving your photos or taking screenshots, are theirs and are not removed.
5.Data on your devices
Whispr keeps copies of your chats and media on your devices so they load quickly. Signing out of the app removes them from that device, and so does uninstalling the app.
